Brett Young, the singer from sunny Southern California, caught my attention years ago with his amazing voice and lyrics we can all relate to. Can you believe it was 2016 when he blew up onto the scene with his first album called, get this, “Brett Young”? I know – very original… But man, did that album make some noise.
Today, I will talk about the songs that have been on repeat in my head since day one. Which tracks by Brett are your faves to crank up and sing along to? For me, it’s gotta be “In Case You Didn’t Know” – I dare you not to get that one stuck in your head. But now, let’s begin with the list, shall we?
1. “Sleep Without You”
This song really takes me back. To all those times I’d stay up late just hoping my phone would buzz, waiting to hear from that special someone. Being so excited for a simple text. Brett really captures that feeling of not wanting to close your eyes without knowing they’re thinking of you, too.
And man, can he play guitar – I tell you, first time I heard this song I was tapping my foot the whole time. The lyrics really blew up, too, and the song managed to hit number three on the Billboard charts.

2. “In Case You Didn’t Know”
This is a highly popular wedding song, and you’ve probably heard “In Case You Didn’t Know” blasting at receptions. Absolutely everyone loves slow dancing to this song, and it was pretty much everywhere when it first came out.
I’m talking top of the charts, number one on the country music lists…this little love song was a big hit. I bet if I had a dollar for every time I saw two lovebirds swaying back and forth to this track, I’d be richer than old Mr. Moneybags. Where there’s a wedding, you can guarantee “In Case You Didn’t Know” will be playing at some point during the night.

3. “Mercy”
Brett sure knows how to bring on the waterworks with his songwriting. His song “Mercy” sure had me bawling my eyes out. This track hit number one on the country music charts and cracked the top 40 of the regular songs too.
Young really knows how to tap into those feels like nobody else, and when he writes a sad song, I’m all for it, even though this isn’t really my genre, Guilty pleasure, I suppose.

4. “Like I Loved You”
It’s crazy to think how a sad song about a broken heart could end up being the number one song in all of Canada. However, “Like I Loved You” did exactly that. Something about hearing someone pour their soul out over how much it hurts to lose someone really strikes a chord with people, and this track is deservingly in the top four of this list.

- Album: Brett Young
- Times Listened on Spotify: 194,143,137
5. “Lady”
The song “Lady” by Brett is one of the sweetest things I ever heard. He wrote it for his little girl and her mom. Ain’t nothing in this world better than your kids, and the missus and Mr Young really delivered with this track – it just melts me every time.

6. “Catch”
That “Catch” track sure showed everyone that Brett can do more than just slow songs. It’s from his “Ticket to L.A.” album. Man, it’ll have you stomping your feet like you’re on the fishing dock, even if you’ve never baited a hook in your life! It’s a fun one for sure, and it was a big hit, making the top five on country charts for a long time after it got released.

7. “Here Tonight”
“Here Tonight” just barely missed being number one on the country music charts, coming in at number two instead. This song is really catchy and has been among people’s favorites for a long time for a reason. Even though it didn’t hit the very top spot, it showed that the crowd really dug this tune. It’s among my top ten for a reason!

Not just an album name! Brett’s ode to his travels and the romantic notion of fleeting connections. It’s not his highest chart-topper, but it’s a journeyman’s dream set to music.

9. “Chapters”
“Chapters” is a song that really makes you think about your own life. Brett tells one heck of a story in this track. It’s not just a regular old song – it’s like the dude is straight up telling you his whole life story. And it really gets you looking back on your own life, too.
Like what chapters you’ve gone through so far, what you’re going through now, where you might end up someday. Young documented some beautiful reflections on his life in this one, and if you haven’t heard it yet, I suggest you rush to Spotify and check it out.

Final Words
Those were some of Brett Young’s top tracks that really got stuck in my head for a long time. Seems like Young’s got a real talent for tugging on your heartstrings with those emotional ballads and getting your toes tapping with those tracks.
Brett’s talents don’t just stop at writing catchy tunes – he actually won an award from the Academy of Country Music for Best New Male Singer back in 2018. So it seems like starting off your music career with an album that’s got your own name on it ain’t such a bad idea after all!
